Endorsements FAQ

Why is there no endorsement in my race?
A candidate could only be considered if they returned the questionnaire. In some races, no candidate did. In others, the candidates who responded didn’t meet our standard this cycle.
Why are two candidates endorsed in the same race?
A BURRN endorsement means a candidate met our standard. We don’t choose one candidate per race, so when more than one met it, we endorsed each of them.
Why wasn’t a particular candidate endorsed?
We don’t share individual scores or reasons. Every candidate was held to the same standard, and we’re grateful to everyone who took the time to answer. Endorsed candidates’ responses are posted on burrn.org, so you can see the kinds of answers that met the standard.
Does party affect endorsements?
No. Party was removed before scoring, and every candidate was held to the same standard. Any candidate who met it was eligible, regardless of party.
Does BURRN give money or support to endorsed candidates?
No. Endorsements are statements only.
Can I read the candidates’ answers?
Responses are posted for endorsed candidates who agreed to share them. Answers from candidates who weren’t endorsed are not published.
Can a candidate see their own score?
No. We don’t share individual scores with anyone, including the candidates.
